Captain Rajeev Nair
The author behind Yen’s World. A teacher within it.
Captain Rajeev Nair is a founder of the school and the author of the book Yen’s World. Alongside his role in shaping the learning community, he also teaches here, sharing in the children’s everyday questions and discoveries.
He is joined in this work by his wife, dancer and teacher Jeethy Nair, and co-founder and principal Isha Mahesh. Together, they bring different experiences to a shared commitment: giving children room to learn and grow in their own way.

Isha Mahesh
Dancer. Data scientist. Principal.
Yen’s World’s first student.
Isha Mahesh’s journey connects the arts, science and education. A dancer who became a data scientist and then the school’s principal, she is also a co-founder and teaches at Yen’s World.
As the school’s first student, Isha’s story is closely woven into the story of Yen’s World itself. Her upbringing through unschooling, close to nature in the suburbs of Thiruvananthapuram, gave her space to explore different interests and grow into the well-rounded person she is today.
Now, as principal and teacher, she brings that lived experience into the learning community. Her path shows how a child’s interests can unfold across disciplines, from the expressive world of dance to the analytical world of data science.

Jeethy Nair
Learning through movement, expression and care.
Jeethy Nair is a co-founder of Yen’s World, a dancer and a teacher. She is Captain Rajeev Nair’s wife and has been a teacher to Isha Mahesh, bringing a personal connection to the learning journey at the heart of the school.
Her work brings dance and teaching into the same space: a place where expression, practice and discovery are part of growing up. Alongside Captain Rajeev Nair and Isha, she helps shape a community in which the arts belong within everyday learning.
